With or Without You

“Unless the LORD builds the house, They labor in vain who build it; Unless the LORD guards the city, The watchman stays awake in vain. It is vain for you to rise up early, To sit up late, To eat the bread of sorrows; For so He gives His beloved sleep.”

Psalms 127:1-2 NKJV

As I sit here, in the hills of Arkansas, staring at the trees and birds while watching nature, I can’t help but understand that none of this is possible without the Lord. We are not meant to work without Him. We are not meant to guard our property without Him. We are intended to live a life with Him and beside Him in all things. No matter what trouble or rest comes our way we must remember that without Him it is all in vain and none of this is possible.

What parts of our lives do we constantly try to do on our own and exclude Him? Where can we readjust and ask the Lord to come back in and take over? Where in our lives should we take our hands off and allow Him to guide us?
