Where Are You Rooted?

“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, And whose hope is the Lord. 8 For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit.

Jeremiah 17:7-8

Before you give a cliche answer to the title question of this post, remember that many profess Christ as their savior but fail to grow strong roots. Do you find yourself getting kicked around by life’s storms? Do you struggle with negativity or depression? You may need to transplant your roots.

When a person’s (tree) roots are planted in the Holy Spirit (water), they will not become dried up or withered when the heat (enemy) comes. They will not cease to bear fruit in years of drought (trials). So where are your roots? Your life’s fruit is a good indicator.
