Turn and Run

Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. 19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? 20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

1 Corinthians 6:18-20 (NKJV)

God’s Word is clear on the dangers of pornography and sexual sin as a whole. We’re instructed to flee from it. The word “flee” is so important. What does that mean? Imagine a Natural Geographic video with a cheetah chasing a gazelle. That’s what fleeing looks like. It’s running for your life. Doing whatever it takes to stay away.

You don’t even really need the Holy Spirit to tell you pornography is wrong. It’s a plague, an epidemic on our society. I was part of this epidemic for over 10 years. I was exposed to pornography as a child and built an addiction to it in college (yes I went to Bible college).

I’ve spoken about my addiction before. It took me several years to build up the courage. Being from the enemy, it’s shameful. I found an organization called Fight the New Drug a while back. I’ve been so intrigued by their “nonreligious” understanding. I’m reminded of James 2:19. Even the demons believe… It doesn’t take a firm understanding of God to know porn is awful.

I’m being challenged to go beyond my admittance of my past addiction and become an advocate for those who are still trapped. There is freedom. Freedom from the temptation. You can be set free. If you are stuck in this cesspool and are ready to fight for your freedom, feel free to message me. Are you ready to flee? Are you ready to be set free? I’d love to share my story of freedom and fight alongside you as you write yours. God is so good!
