To Be Known

For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb.14 I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;Marvelous are Your works,And that my soul knows very well.

Psalm 139:13-14

I have two children. My wife is pregnant with our third. Having kids is an amazing adventure. I love Kaylee and Jackson with a love that my mind can’t totally comprehend. They are my children. There is nothing they can do to change my love for them. I love them so much, I literally hurt when I have to punish them. When they cry from an injury, I hurt with them. The connection between a parent and a child is astounding. As parents, we know our children. They are known by us.

As David was writing Psalm 139, I’m really curious if He already had children. Having children that you know has a mysterious way of bringing to light how well we are known by God. He’s completely and intimately aware. You can’t hide anything from Him. Don’t even TRY to get away with lying…

As my kids grow, I love them more. I love seeing them learn new things. I love seeing them take risks and make choices. I’m so grateful today for my Heavenly Father who loves me.
