Continuing steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine is a necessary prerequisite to signs and wonders. We so often want what comes from the Spirit, while forsaking His leading. It is insanity to hold the belief we can live contrary to the apostles’ doctrine and attain all that springs forth from it. When the church begins to approximate apostolic lifestyle, it will appropriate apostolic power. Until that time, the church will offer no substantive value to the world in which it was sent.
