The Leader In You

Exodus 4:10-13
10 Moses said to the Lord, “Pardon your servant, Lord. I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue.” 11 The Lord said to him, “Who gave human beings their mouths? Who makes them deaf or mute? Who gives them sight or makes them blind? Is it not I, the Lord?12 Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.” 13 But Moses said, “Pardon your servant, Lord. Please send someone else.”

Moses was totally arguing with God in these verses. God wanted to use Moses for a huge job, but Moses lacked confidence…he didn’t believe in himself. He kept telling God to “please send someone else.” (At least he prefaced the argument with “please” and was trying to be polite about it).

Gods job for Moses was huge! God wanted Moses to free millions (yes millions) from slavery. Exodus 12:37 says: “There were about six hundred thousand men on foot, besides women and children.” Only the MEN were accounted for. Which means if you add the women and children to the count, it was roughly 2.5 million people. Can you imagine being the leader of such a huge job! No wonder Moses was a little skeptical.

Moses almost missed out on a crazy amazing opportunity to free millions of people just because he lacked confidence. But instead (after arguing back and forth with God), Moses became an influential person in history.

YOU can be an influential person in history too. How? Be confident in who God made you to be. Be confident in the fact that God created you with a purpose. Be confident in what God calls you to do. Don’t argue with God, but instead step out in faith (with confidence) and God will do the rest! God CAN and WILL use you for crazy amazing things. Are you going to let Him?
