For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God.

Salvation is a result of the combination of our faith in God and God’s grace. We cannot achieve it on our own and thankfully, God doesn’t force it on us either. This is the first union between us and God. And of course, because He is a generous Father, He comes bearing a gift… salvation!
