Morning Goals

Give ear to my words, O Lord,
Consider my meditation.
Give heed to the voice of my cry,
My King and my God,
For to You I will pray.
My voice You shall hear in the morning, O Lord;
In the morning I will direct it to You,
And I will look up.

Psalm 5: 1-3 (NKJV)

It has been said that the early bird gets the worm. David no doubt enjoyed the benefits of engaging God first thing in the morning.  Imagine David waking up from his sleep, turning over and immediately beginning to praise God, to speak to Him and expect God to hear his thoughts and prayers.

How much more would our lives be grounded in God if we started up a spiritual discipline much like this?  To open our eyes, immediately beginning to focus on the Lord, and to look to Him to center our day before we’ve even stepped foot on the floor?  I encourage you to join me on a challenge to do just this and see how beginning a small habit can make great gains in our walk with the Lord over time!
