Money, money, money… MONEY!

“Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.”

Psalm 37:4

Read that again. Slowly. Here is the thing most people miss: if you follow the beginning part of the scripture, and take delight in the Lord, the desires of your heart are going to change to what God desires for you. But most people don’t think that way. They go to this verse when they’re already desiring something they want. Thinking what they desire is going to be delivered to them.

Again, read the verse over with fresh understanding, but slower this time. What this verse is saying is that the more you delight yourself in the Lord, the more your heart reflects His. Meaning, maybe not the money, job or perfect kids you want but something the Lord desires for you, will be given instead.

Context folks. Context is very important when reading the Bible and trying to understand what God is teaching us.
