He Walks With Me

13 Now behold, two of them were traveling that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was [a]seven miles from Jerusalem. 14 And they talked together of all these things which had happened. 15 So it was, while they conversed and reasoned, that Jesus Himself drew near and went with them. 16 But their eyes were restrained, so that they did not know Him.

17 And He said to them, “What kind of conversation is this that you have with one another as you [b]walk and are sad?”

Luke 24:13-17, NKJV

As a believer, I know that Jesus is closer than a brother. But do I live as such?

Jesus reappeared a few times after he rose from the grave. Two men were talking as they walked and I love how Luke says “Jesus Himself drew near and went with them.” Jesus picked up the conversation as if He’d been walking with them the entire time. He jumps right in with a question (as He typically does).

Jesus is active in our lives. He walks with us and is a part of our conversations whether we recognize it or not. I’m sure there are many questions He’d like to ask and things He’d like to say, but am I listening?
