G + G – G

11 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, 12 teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age,

Titus 2:11-12 (NKJV)

Paul warns us of those who would have the appearance of godliness but deny its power.

“5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!”

2 Timothy 3:5 (NKJV)

12 … be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

1 Timothy 4:12 (NKJV)

7 in all things showing yourself to be a pattern of good works; in doctrine showing integrity, reverence, incorruptibility, 8 sound speech that cannot be condemned, that one who is an opponent may be ashamed, having nothing evil to say of you.

Titus 2:7-8 (NKJV)

Pastors and believers should be G-ifted and G-odly but primarily G-odly. Do not be led to believe that a G-ifted life is a G-odly one. They are not necessarily interconnected. We discover in Romans that an unrepentant heart can operate with considerable gifting. (Romans 11:29-30) Be mindful as you evaluate your life. I recommend you subtract your G-ifting so you might properly and rightly perceive your G-odliness or lack there of.
