Follow Me

Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. 14 As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance, 15 but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, 16 since it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.”

1 Peter 1:13-16

When Jesus called his disciples, He said “Follow Me”. He didn’t say “Love Me”. He didn’t say “Spend time with Me”. He said “Follow Me”. If we’re going to become like Jesus, we need to follow Jesus. You don’t walk in someone’s footsteps and not become like them. Think about how much our kids desire to be like us. If we have bad table manners, our kids will most likely also. If we are rude to people, our kids will probably end up with little sarcastic personalties.

1 Peter calls us to Christ’s holiness. If we’re going to follow Him, we must become like Him.
