Don’t Despise the Small Things: Part One

For who has despised the day of small things?

Zechariah 4:10 NKJV

If you’re anything like me, you would love to see a real-life, dramatic miracle right in front of your face.  Something like the signs and wonders that are strewn all over the pages of the Bible would just be awesome to experience first-hand.  Many people in every time and place have encountered such marvels.  I dream of seeing these things happen.  I do believe they happen!!

However, I don’t ever want my dreams or desires to see a “parting-of-the-Red Sea” miracle or a “leper-has-been-cleansed” blind me from seeing the signs and wonders that follow believers everywhere, every day.

Could you be guilty, like me, of keeping your eyes out for the big, dramatic miracles, only to miss the very present, beautiful signs and wonders of the Most High God that occur moment by moment, often too insignificant to detect?  Next week, I will share a modern-day parable of this idea to illustrate how we may be despising the small things of the Lord.
