Children, Part 4

Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.

Ephesians 6:1-4, NKJV

I’m taking four weeks to really dig-in to this verse. Let’s break it up into four parts/weeks.

  1. Children
  2. Obey your parents
  3. In the Lord
  4. For this is right

(You’re catching me on part four so if you’d like to back up, you can read about the first three points.)

FOR THIS IS RIGHT

Basically, it’s the right thing to do. We don’t have to wonder how God wants us to behave with our parents. We are to obey. Period. This is God’s design for us and our family.

It may seem like the Bible isn’t written only for children or young adults, but that’s simply not true. When Jesus walked the earth, we got to see just how important children are to God.

Then some children were brought to Him so that He might lay His hands on them and pray; and the disciples rebuked them. But Jesus said, “Let the children alone, and do not hinder them from coming to Me; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”

Matthew 19:13-14
