Not once did God create something and say “I don’t like it as much… I’ll try harder next time.” Why is it that we allow ourselves to look in the mirror and be unsatisfied with what we see?
Today, as you go throughout your day, think on this thought. You are the only you God has created. You are the very best version of you. There’s not another you out there that’s slimmer, more muscular, has a fuller beard… You are it! God created you and He loves you.
1 Peter 3:3-4
Do not let your adornment be merely outward—arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel— 4 rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God.
God’s not interested in changing you, He desires to improve you. He’s not interested in changing a banana into an orange because He likes oranges better. His desire is to, through your pursuit of His righteousness, cut away the brown spots (sin) and prepare you for an awesome recipe He has ready for you! Stop comparing yourself to an orange. You weren’t meant to be an orange… : )
Even as christians, we spend a majority of our time trying to change the outer person while God’s concerned with the inner person. Even if your focus is turned inward, stop trying to change who you are. Pursue God. Chase after His righteousness. Devote the time you spend looking down on yourself to looking UP at Him! As your pursuit of Him increases, HE will cut away the brown spots. He’s ready. Be the best you!
