Sin of… Procrastination

Ephesians 5:15-17 Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.

This probably won’t be a popular read. I know I didn’t enjoy hearing about this in a recent sermon. Bottom line… procrastination is sin. We live with a warped view of procrastination because we view “our” time as… ours. This is wrong. As followers of Christ, we have committed our lives… our time… to Him!

We’ve created a culture to allow procrastination to be something we jokingly accept as true for our lives. “Yeah… I’m a procrastinator”… When was the last time you heard a person say, “Yeah… I’m an adulterer”… “Yeah, I’m a liar”… “Yeah, I’m a glutton”…

At the beginning of a new year, we’re faced with the opportunity to make changes in our lives. Why not make changing our view on procrastination one of them!

FYI… I wrote this devotion a day past my deadline. I’m also a work in progress…
