She Laughs

We react to a broad range of stimuli hundreds of times every day and while the majority of our reactions are incidental (catching the falling spoon from the edge of the table, changing stations when we don’t like the music, answering a simple question)… It happens thousands of times each day.
We think.
We feel.
We react.
For every action, there will be a reaction. We possess the power to choose our reactions. What would your life look like if you were in control of your reactions? Charles Swindoll wrote, “I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it.”

Joy is mentioned 355 times in the bible and out of 66 books of the bible, 51 have Joy as a central theme. We must be carriers of joy. We must be a people marked by the joy that only comes from an all-knowing, all-powerful, and all-loving God.

“She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future.” Proverbs 31:25
King James version says: “Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.”

The word “rejoice” in Hebrew, is the word sachaq which means to laugh mockingly. She is laughing mockingly at the days that are to come. She knows (without a shadow of a doubt) that it will not always be an easy life. She knows that trials WILL come. (Can you relate?) She does not know what the future will hold, yet she can laugh at the days that are to come. (You know, the head tilted back, with her eyes closed…emoji kinda laugh).

How can this woman laugh at the days to come and react with joy? This woman knows WHO she is and WHOSE she is. When you know who He is, you come to a place of security in who and whose you are. When you become completely secure in the Father – you CAN react with joy.

Know WHO you are and WHOSE you are!
