Romans 8:24-27 New King James Version (NKJV)
24 For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? 25 But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance. 26 Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groaning which cannot be uttered. 27 Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
Our salvation is found in what we cannot see. Seeking for it in what we can see will deplete us of hope, energy, love, faith and the like. This is a Spirit thing. We only know how to pray from the flesh. Prayer that discovers the will of God is in four parts:
1. We must look to what we cannot see.
2. The Spirit prays on our behalf.
3. God hears from the Spirit the best way to transform you into the image of Christ Jesus.
4. God uses things you can see to help you become a son of Glory.
Help us Lord. Prayer is not what we think it is.
