1 John 3:18 “Let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.
How many times have you heard that love is a feeling? Remember the song, “You got that love and feeling…” Okay, now I know you are all singing the rest of that song. Back to love talk. Love is a verb. A constant effort. Not an emotion. YOU DON’T FEEL LOVE… YOU DO IT!
The bible describes loves as a verb… it is in doing for one another, not what we feel for others. Love is doing the dishes for your spouse, helping bring in groceries, taking out trash..etc. If you depended on your feelings, you wouldn’t want to do it.
Think about Jesus. Do you think He depended on his feelings to give up His life for us? No! He made the choice out of sacrificial love. Love is giving of oneself and not relying on your feelings…which are wishy-washy anyway.
Love is not so much about our feelings. It is what you do!
Are you living the Verb Love kinda life? What do you do for others? Do you love others with your words or with action?
Love your neighbor.
Make a difference.
