He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. – Psalms 23:2-3 ESV
Slowing down has enabled me to see God’s presence in my life on a deeper level. Trust me when I tell you there is nothing better for your soul than the presence of God.
Often times however, we miss God in the hustle and busyness of life. Can I get an “Amen”! We may feel like God’s forgotten us, that He’s not here, that He hasn’t heard our prayers but those are just feelings. Feelings that are false! God is always with us whether we’re crying at the kitchen sink, taking a nap on the couch, or breaking up a fight between the kids.
If we can try and recognize God even in the mess and craziness of life we protect our souls from missing out on what we need most, which is HIM. When we recognize the presence of God in our day-to-day lives… we don’t have to run on empty until Sunday.
IF you know me, you know that I absolutely love the beach and sometimes when life gets busy, I find myself dreaming of the next beach vacation. BUT… I’ve made the decision to not wait until next year’s beach trip to restore my soul.
I’m taking God’s presence with me through the year, through the obligations, and through the challenges.
